CERTIFICATION MEANS PROFESSIONAL ???
Indonesian government set the rule that the teachers must have teaching certificate to be admitted as a professional teacher. If they have the certificate they deserve to have extra salary or twice as much they got.
There are two ways to get the certificate, They can get through :
1. Portfolio or
2. Following Teacher workshop and Trainning (PLPG)
For the year 2011,2012, 2013 before join the PLPG the candidate teachers must follow the UKA (Pre Competence Test) and if they pass the teachers will join the PLPG but who don't they have to wait for the next year.
From 2006 up to now there are so many critics although theachers have got good salary from the certification but their quality seem not raise to better performance. what happen?
Some argued that the have got teachers have different orientation about the money they got. They tend to pulfill their secondary needs such buying car,or jewelries not to get their education or make their education higher or professional....
Besides the system doesn't work or no good evaluation or control from the government and the teachers themselves lack of commitment.
Mr. Ahadi ....... It seems an undeniable fact that the quality of the education depends on the quality of teachers. The good education has competent and qualified teachers to rely on. Unfortunately, this consideration is still not a priority in the teachers' mindset. the certification is a process of giving certificates to qualified teachers who are able to fulfill the requirements that are needed. Teachers who are certified will earn the multiplied salary, so that is why many teachers force themselves to fulfill the requirements. This is the everyday reality about hoping the monthly - additional salary with no attention to the step by step education improvement. I do confess that sometimes my mind is influenced by such of unnecessary thinking to not pay attention to the essence of teacher qualification. Hope that there always a hard try to learn many news things in order to be more than before in a good education. Im looking forward to your another postings
